Purdue to Begin Work on Animal Science Buildings

The school says the buildings, scheduled to open in 2017, will house scientists working in areas ranging from food quality to human disorders and disease.
The Hobart and Russel Creighton Hall of Animal Sciences and the Land O’Lakes Center for Experiential Learning are being named in recognition of $5 million gifts. The groundbreaking is set for Friday, November 6 on the West Lafayette campus. Purdue President Mitch Daniels, Warsaw-based Creighton Brothers LLC Chair Eddie Creighton and Land O’Lakes Inc. Chief Executive Officer Chris Policinski will take part in the event.
Purdue says the buildings will equip faculty, staff and students with the technology they need to help meet the increasing need for animal science innovation, research and education. Research in the buildings will examine topics including livestock efficiency and animal health.
