The Indiana Department of Transportation will hold the gatherings at the end of next month and beginning of December at Perry Meridian, Mooresville and Martinsville high schools.
Section 6 runs between Martinsville and the south side of Indianapolis.
Five routes are currently under consideration by the project team. INDOT will then narrow it down to a smaller list of "reasonable alternative" routes based on environmental, performance and cost factors. The reasonable alternatives will be presented and discussed during the meetings along with potential interchange locations and images of the potential footprint.
INDOT says the dates, times and locations for the meetings are:
- Perry Meridian High School: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 30
- Mooresville High School: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 2
- Martinsville High School: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 3
Section 4 runs between Crane and Bloomington. Construction began late last year on the fifth section between Bloomington and Martinsville and primarily involves enhancing the existing Indiana State Road 37 to bring it up to interstate standards. That portion is set to be complete late next year.
In all, the planned route between Evansville and Indianapolis would cover 142 miles.
