Indianapolis-based Dow AgroSciences LLC has entered into a research collaboration with a tech company in the United Kingdom. Dow Agro says the partnership will give it access to Synthace’s software to accelerate product development.

The Indianapolis company says the collaboration will specifically focus on using Synthace’s Antha software to develop fermentation-based production of crop protection products that prevent pest infestation and control disease.

Synthace Chief Executive Officer Tim Fell says Antha "links research, development and biomanufacturing." He says it will allow Dow AgroSciences to "optimize tools and processes that enable them to continue to boost bottom-line performance."

Dow AgroSciences Bioengineering and BioProcessing Research and Development Director Nigel Mouncey says the partnership will boost the company’s ability to create novel microbial production strains and allow it to "achieve our goals more quickly in an expanded and automated manner."
