Former Angie’s List Inc. (Nasdaq: ANGI) Chief Executive Officer Bill Oesterle is launching a group focusing on advocating for LGBT protections. Our partners at WFYI in Indianapolis report Oesterle  believes Tech for Equality can bring the state’s burgeoning tech sector together to push for a statewide LGBT civil rights law.

Oesterle was one of the most prominent critics of last year’s contentious Religious Freedom Restoration Act. He says the tech community depends on talent, and inclusive laws will help draw young professionals to Indiana.

He says the group will support the efforts of Freedom Indiana, which is an LGBT advocacy group that formed two years ago.
