Indiana State University and Indiana University are joining the network of institutions offering a program aiming to boost training for principals and superintendents. A previously-announced, $14.5 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. is allowing the schools to offer the Woodrow Wilson MBA Fellowship in Education Leadership. The program was introduced in the state in 2013 at the University of Indianapolis. Under the UIndy program, each Fellow receives a $50,000 stipend to cover tuition, technology, an international travel experience and some living expenses. In exchange, the participants serve in a leadership role in their local school district for at least three years.

Jack Maynard, who is currently interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Indiana State University, will lead the school's MBA in Education program.

The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation also offers the program in Wisconsin and New Mexico.
