WHITESTOWN, Ind. – Amazon is hiring for more than 700 full-time positions with benefits starting on day one at its fulfillment center in Whitestown, Ind. Amazon is hiring in order to meet growing customer demand.
“The positive effects of the jobs Amazon has created – both past and present – are felt well beyond the Whitestown city limits,” said State Rep. Gregory Porter (D-Indianapolis). “Thousands of Hoosiers employed by Amazon, including those in Indianapolis, are thankful for the opportunities that the company has brought to our state.”
The Whitestown facility first opened on August 2008, when it shipped its first customer order, a Pet Nail Trimmer, to a customer in California.
“Whitestown has been lucky to have had Amazon as a major employer in the community since 2008,” said Whitestown Town Manager Dax Norton. “With Amazon announcing that they will, once again, add hundreds of full-time positions with comprehensive benefits, we are reminded how fortunate we are to have Amazon in our backyard.”
The full-time hourly positions will pick, pack and ship customer orders. In addition to competitive wages, employees are immediately eligible for comprehensive benefits that include health insurance, 401(k) with 50 percent match, bonuses, company stock awards and a network of support to ensure employees succeed. Amazon also offers full-time employees innovative programs like Career Choice, where the company will pre-pay up to 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.
