Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) has announced two executive appointments. The manufacturer has named Jim Fier vice president of its Engineering, Heavy-Duty, Mid-Range and Light-Duty Engine Business and Tim Millwood vice president of purchasing. March 18, 2015

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced that Tim Millwood has been named Vice President, Purchasing, effective April 1.

Millwood joined Cummins in 1992 as a manufacturing engineer. Over the course of his career, Millwood has held many positions at Cummins locations around the globe, serving as a plant manager at Darlington Engine Plant in the U.K., roles in purchasing in the United States and Latin America, as well as roles in supply chain, the Marine Business and the Cummins Scania XPI joint venture. Millwood currently serves as Executive Director, Purchasing, a position he has held since 2012.

“Tim has the experience and leadership skills necessary to run our complex global purchasing organization, which requires developing and implementing strategies for sourcing materials and managing our suppliers,” said Lisa Yoder, Vice President, Global Supply Chain, Cummins Inc. “Tim's experience and leadership in this space and his ability to successfully collaborate with leaders across our Corporate, Business Unit and ABO teams will serve him well in his new role.”

Millwood earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

He and his wife, Lauren, have three children, Connor, Chase and Cathrine and reside in Columbus.

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced that Jim Fier has been named Vice President – Engineering, Heavy-Duty, Mid-Range and Light-Duty (HMLD) Engine Business, effective April 1.

“Jim is an accomplished engineering leader with one of the broadest experience bases in the engineering organization,” said Srikanth Padmanabhan, Vice President, HMLD Business, Cummins Inc. “His exceptional experience and commitment to Cummins will continue to serve him well as he help propels our company forward.”

Fier began his career with Cummins in 1986 as a Service Engineer and over the course of his career he has held various roles including Executive Engineer – HMLD On-Highway, World Wide Chief Engineer, Technical Project Leader and Program Leader and currently serves as Executive Director – HMLD Engineering. In his current role, Fier has led all new product development and current product support of Cummins 2.8 to 15 liter on and off-highway products for the global market.

Fier earned an agricultural engineering degree from North Dakota State University in 1986. He is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and a graduate of the Bosch/Carnegie Mellon international project management training program.

Fier resides in Columbus, Indiana with his wife, M'Liss, and their three children.
