News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — Today Conference Ventures, LLC, host of the Indy Big Data Conference 2015, announced the creation of the first-ever Big Data Career Expo to take place as part of the Indy Big Data Conference (www.indybigdata.com), on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Indiana Convention Center.

The addition of a Big Data Career Expo came at the suggestion of representatives from Cummins, Inc. who are expanding their big data capabilities and looking to grow Cummins talent base. According to Michael King, Director of Business Enterprise Intelligence at Cummins, “The Indy Big Data Conference is a unique, one-of-a-kind opportunity for us to accept resumes nearly in our back yard of downtown Indianapolis, from some of the best and brightest talent in big data architects, scientists and analysts. We are also open to accepting resumes across the IT spectrum and beyond.”

King who serves on the advisory committee to the Indy Big Data Conference will also present at the conference a curriculum that Cummins, Inc. is developing with IU, Purdue and Microsoft for enhancing their big data analytics capabilities within their workforce, throughout the state of Indiana and the surrounding region.

The Indy Big Data Conference 2015 will also include a Big Data Academic Poster Session designed by professors of Health and Bio Informatics in the School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI. More than a dozen posters outlining how students best believe Big Data should be mined for Big Profits – the 2015 Indy Big Data Conference theme – will be judged and awarded prizes sponsored by Eleven Fifty Academy.

Eleven Fifty Academy, Eleven Fifty Consulting and NoShoes Incubator, Co-Founder and CEO Scott Jones, will also deliver one of the two keynote addresses at the Conference. Jones will speak about the importance of Big Data in his own work around the planet with Voicemail, Gracenote, ChaCha (in support of the IU School of Nursing, Amazon, Google, NYC 311, the Veteran's Administration, and many more), and now his new venture, Eleven Fifty Academy, Eleven Fifty Consulting, and NoShoes Incubator. In addition to sponsoring the prizes for the Big Data Academic Poster Session, Jones also plans to use the podium to make an announcement about Eleven Fifty Academy and Big Data.

Scott Jones, is a veteran entrepreneur, inventor, strategist, and venture capitalist. At age 25, Scott co-founded Boston Technology (now Comverse, Inc.), where he invented a massively scalable, easy-to-use voicemail system. Scott has invested his talents and capital in various other entrepreneurial ventures including ChaCha, Gracenote (powers iTunes), and PrecisePath Robotics. Eleven Fifty is Scott's newest venture to help educate app and web developers with not only programming skills, but to help them succeed as entrepreneurs.

Amr Awadallah, Ph.D., Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Silicon Valley's Cloudera, will deliver the second keynote address at the Conference. Awadallah is considered a visionary in the Big Data world. In his presentation, he will provide his Big Data insights and will discuss the key underlying patterns for how Hadoop is transforming the way organizations manage and derive value from data
