River Ridge Expects ‘Exponential’ Growth

Subscribe NowThe director of marketing and finance at the River Ridge Development Authority in Jeffersonville says he does not expect the park's budget to stop growing any time soon. The authority just approved a more than $11 million budget for 2015. Paul Wheatley says the total has jumped by $10 million over the last six years. He says much of this year's funds will focus on infrastructure related to current and future development. Wheatley says the effort to gain “mega-site” designation continues. It would allow River Ridge more opportunity to market itself to large industrial interests.
He says the focus of the massive property will continue to be “all about site preparedness and readiness.”
One project is a multi-million dollar “heavy-haul” road to connect the center to the Ports of Indiana-Jeffersonville.
The East-End portion of the Ohio River Bridges Project is expected to be complete next year, which will provide a more direct route for commerce.
