Cummins Eyes Former Sears Property

(Nasdaq: SHLD) property in downtown Columbus. A company spokesman tells Inside INdiana Business the manufacturer is negotiating with the Columbus Capital Foundation on a deal. The lease would be the latest in a series of moves by the company to grow its Indiana presence. Last month, the engine maker opened a logistics center near its MidRange Engine Plant in Bartholomew County.
Cummins also in December unveiled plans for a $30 million headquarters in downtown Indianapolis' Market East district. The campus is also set to include retail space and significant public greenspace. The company hopes open the building next year.
