INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 13, 2014)– Horner Industrial Group has begun an expansion to its electric motor shop at 1521 East Washington Street Indianapolis, IN. The project is expected to be completed in January 2015. The expansion will add 20,000 square feet and will include installation of a fifty ton crane. In addition, a new Phenix Test Panel with the capacity to test up to 10,000 HP and up to 13,800 volts, and a new dynamometer to load test up to 2000 HP will be placed in service as part of the project. This expansion closely follows the introduction during 2014 of the new Thermal Spray and Industrial Coatings Division in a completely renovated, previously owned Indianapolis facility. These projects were supported by City of Indianapolis by granting tax abatements on the investment in return for targeted job creation.
