The IU Mauer School of Law in Bloomington has already reached similar agreements with Wabash College and schools in Georgia and Illinois.

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin College and the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law have formed a partnership that creates the Franklin College Law Scholar opportunity for students and alumni of Franklin College. The program will allow a student or alumni to be eligible for a minimum of a half-tuition scholarship to the IU McKinney School of Law.
Franklin College will nominate two students or alumni annually for admission to the IU McKinney School of Law. Only nominated applicants will be considered for the scholarship. Franklin College will base their selection on indicators of future success which may include: prior academic performance, letters of recommendation, professional, volunteer and leadership experience, and area of interest within the legal field.
The opportunity will include a half-tuition scholarship, a designation as a program Fellow in the student's chosen area of study, a paid employment as a Research Assistant and guaranteed experiential learning opportunities.
David Brailow, Ph.D., Franklin College vice president for academic affairs and dean, helped form the partnership.
“We are delighted to be partnering with the McKinney School of Law; the Franklin College Law Scholar program offers our students and alumni a unique opportunity, not only for financial support in law school but also for experiences that will give them a distinct advantage in a competitive environment for law graduates,” said Brailow.
Franklin College will begin to nominate students for the program beginning with the law school's fall 2015 entering class.
Founded in 1834, Franklin College is a residential, liberal arts institution with a scenic, wooded campus located 20 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis, spanning 207 acres, including athletic fields and a 31-acre biology woodland.
