News Release

Kokomo, Ind. — The City of Kokomo and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) have ratified a two-year extension of the collective bargaining agreement that holds wages at the current level.

The union representing the rank-and-file police officers unanimously voted to approve the contract extension.

“The women and men of the Kokomo Police Department comprise one of state's finest police departments,” said Kathy Horton, City of Kokomo Director of Human Resources. “Their professionalism and commitment to law enforcement resulted in the continuation of a fair and equitable deal.”

“The FOP would like to thank its membership in ratifying this contract,” said Shane Melton, President FOP Lodge Number 78. “The agreement contains no concessions and demonstrates the hard work and skill of our membership.”

This agreement extends the current contract through 2017.
