Football Safety Conference Returning to Indy

Indianapolis, Ind. — The nation's largest event focused on youth and high school football player safety, education and injury prevention returns to Indianapolis in February 2015. USA Football, the sport's national governing body, announced today that more than 600 youth and high school coaches, athletic directors, commissioners and superintendents from across the United States will unite Feb. 21-22 at the Indiana Convention Center for the second annual USA Football National Conference.
Retired Indianapolis Colts head coach TONY DUNGY will deliver a keynote address at the 2015 USA Football National Conference, followed by presentations from leaders in medicine, researchers and football experts with a diverse range of backgrounds and expertise.
The conference will provide attendees with insight on the latest research, best practices and recommendations for better and safer play while exploring trends within the football community.
“In two short years, our National Conference has become the largest meeting of high school and youth football administrators in the country,” USA Football Executive Director SCOTT HALLENBECK said. “We are honored to have Coach Dungy and other expert speakers share their insight and converse with the hundreds of men and women traveling to be with us in Indianapolis. By working together, we continue to improve how coaches are prepared, athletes are taught, parents are informed and safety is addressed.”
USA Football, with members in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., conducts more than 200 football education and training events annually on high school and youth levels. More than 750 high schools and 5,500 youth football organizations in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., registered for USA Football's Heads Up Football program in 2014. Heads Up Football provides nationally endorsed coaching education and teaching resources to benefit players, parents and coaches.
A complete list of speakers and presenters for the 2015 USA Football National Conference will be announced in the coming months.
The inaugural USA Football National Conference in February 2014 welcomed dozens of football experts, including Miami Dolphins Executive Vice President of Football Administration DAWN APONTE, former NFL linebacker and Super Bowl champion ROSEVELT COLVIN, Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach MARVIN LEWIS, former NFL running back MERRIL HOGE, West Virginia University Athletic Director and former NFL quarterback OLIVER LUCK, Green Bay Packers President and CEO MARK MURPHY and six-time NFL Executive of the Year BILL POLIAN.
