A group of local investors is planning a $6 million indoor basketball and volleyball facility. Grand Park Fieldhouse will include six full-sized courts, locker rooms and office space. The city estimates the fieldhouse will create 100 jobs and generate tens of millions of dollars in local economic impact. Officials hope to begin construction in April and open the venue in early 2016. South Bend-based Holladay Properties announced plans earlier this year for a $20 million indoor soccer facility on the campus.

Westfield, Ind. — Soon Grand Park will be able to host an even broader range of sporting activities year-round. A group of local investors have committed to develop a 56,000 square foot indoor facility for basketball and volleyball with an estimated value of $6 million. The facility will be called the “Grand Park Fieldhouse” and will feature six full-sized courts along with locker rooms, offices and a caf? focused on healthy eating options. Sand volleyball courts are also being considered.
“We're excited to expand the offerings of Grand Park with the development of this new indoor facility. It's a testament to the viability of this economic development endeavor that it is already attracting interest from the private sector to join in its continued success,” said Westfield Mayor Andy Cook.
Strong demand has been forecasted for this type of basketball and volleyball facility from the local area and across the country for leagues, camps and tournaments. The investor group developing the Grand Park Fieldhouse includes entrepreneur, Andy Card and other local investors. Rodney Sinn will be Vice President of Operations.
In addition to hosting basketball and volleyball events, the Fieldhouse is in negotiations with a third party sports rehabilitation company, which will allow athletes of all sports to utilize the facility.
“We're thrilled to be involved and to bring an even grander scale to Grand Park with the addition of the great Indiana tradition of basketball,” said local entrepreneur/investor Andy Card.
It is estimated that the Fieldhouse will create 100 jobs and bring tens of millions of dollars into the local economy. The facility has a tentative groundbreaking date of April 2015 and opening date of January 2016. It will begin its zoning application over the next several months.

Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana, is a destination like no other. The thoughtfully designed 400-acre Grand Park Sports Campus features 26 baseball and softball diamonds, 31 multipurpose fields for soccer, football, rugby, field hockey and lacrosse. More than 1.5 million sports visitors are expected to participate in or attend tournaments and events at the Grand Park Sports Campus on an annual basis making the surrounding area a prime location for economic development. Grand Park is bound by State Road 32 on the south, 196th Street to the north, Spring Mill Road on the west and United States Highway 31 to the east.
