Purdue, Crane to Join Portfolios

Subscribe NowThe president of the Purdue Research Foundation says a new commercialization partnership with the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center will allow the school to connect with a key driver of Indiana's “innovation ecosystem.” Dan Hasler says the installation and university have a combined 700 pieces of intellectual property seeking potential licensees. They will formalize a technology marketing agreement Friday at Crane. Hasler says the agreement will make Purdue University “much more active” in an existing research partnership with the U.S. Navy that was signed in May.
He says Purdue and Crane will sell and market the other's technology in an effort to do what's best for both portfolios.
Hasler characterizes the initiative as an “obvious” thing to try that will hopefully lead to jobs in the state.
He says no timetable has been set for the arrangement, but it could continue for multiple years.
