Junior Achievement of Central Indiana Inc. has launched a $1 million fund to support programs helping underserved students. The Lindsey Family Financial and Entrepreneurial Education Fund will boost initiatives including JA's “In-School” and “BizTown” programs. August 15, 2014

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Junior Achievement of Central Indiana (JA) will announce at its Annual Meeting on August 14, 2014, the establishment of the Lindsey Family Financial and Entrepreneurial Education Fund, created by David P. and Jessica Lindsey and family to support central Indiana JA Programs. The $1,000,000 Fund will provide annual support for Junior Achievement's Preschool through High School Programs, including In-School Programs for every grade level, and JA's well-known JA BizTown Program for intermediate/middle school students, with a focus on expanding Junior Achievement's reach and impact within underserved schools including a number of Indianapolis Public Schools. IPS Superintendent Dr. Lewis Ferebee stated, “IPS students will benefit from the expansion of JA's highly impactful financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness programs, which develop critical skills and confidence, and provide valuable insight into a breadth of career options and pathways.”

In addition, David A. Lindsey, a representative of the Lindsey Fund, and a JA Board Member, stated, “It is a privilege for the Lindsey Family to support Junior Achievement's exceptional programs. We have been involved with JA for many years and have seen its impact firsthand. We are proud to play a part in the expansion of these valuable programs to reach many more underserved and at risk youth, and have confidence that JA's proven programs will positively impact the young people of our community, helping them gain the knowledge and experience necessary to support a successful future.”
