Indianapolis, Ind. — On Tuesday May 13, Christian Theological Seminary will host the annual Petticrew Faith-In-Action Program – an annual gathering that brings together Indianapolis business, civic and congregational leaders to exchange ideas, share insights and identify mutual goals and ways of achieving them. This year's program is entitled 'The Work of Faithful People for the Common Good: Collaborating for Greater Impact.' It will consist of two morning sessions, lunch and a keynote address by David Johnson, CEO of BioCrossroads and the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership.
The first morning session, called 'Effective Collaborations for the Common Good,' will present information on four successful local efforts to improve the lives of area residents by a leader of each movement. Included are The Interfaith Hunger Initiative with David Miner, the redevelopment of the Meadows with Rev. Tammy Robinson, the civic conversation that led to redevelopment of the Near East Side with Rev. Mike Bowling, and an interfaith youth service project of the Global Interfaith Partnership with teen leaders Sam Stewart and Meredith Warbinton.
In the second session, CTS President Matthew Myer Boulton will engage a panel of business, civic and faith leaders in a conversation on 'Fostering a New Generation of Engagement for the Common Good.' Panel participants include Michael Huber, President/CEO of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and former Deputy Mayor; Rev. John Minion, Oasis of Hope Baptist Church; Dr. Lewis Ferebee, Superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools; Dr. Lisa E. Harris, M.D., CEO of Eskenazi Health; Rev. Charles Harrison, Ten Point Coalition and Barnes U. Methodist Church; and, David Johnson, CEO of BioCrossroads.
For his keynote address during the luncheon, Mr. Johnson will discuss the significant role business and civic leaders can play in improving the quality-of-life of their neighbors through their faith and faith-based communities. Or, in short, how the common good is everyone’s business.

The 2014 Petticrew-in-Action Program will be held on Tuesday, May 13th, from 9 am – 1:30 pm at Christian Theological Seminary, 1000 42nd Street, Indianapolis, IN. Check-in begins at 8:30 am. Cost of registration is $40 for both morning sessions and luncheon keynote address; $30 for seniors; free for students; and, $300 for tables of eight.
