A $1 million zip line course is set to open this weekend in Anderson. White River Zip Lines says the attraction is one of the largest courses in the Midwest.

News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — Starting May 10, Indianapolis thrill seekers can bravely ascend 75-foot launch towers, traverse teetering sky bridges, strap into a harness, and whiz up to 1,000 feet across eight different zip line runs situated on one of the largest zip line courses in the Midwest.

White River Zip Lines, a $1 million zip line course located in Anderson, Ind., is the latest adrenaline-inducing attraction to come from the same team behind White River Paintball, one of the country's largest paintball facilities, and Indy Scream Park, the top-rated indoor/outdoor haunted attraction.

Riders are capable of reaching speeds of 30 mph, and several of White River Zip Lines' runs will give them the unique chance to race side-by-side against friends or enjoy a solo flight.

Indianapolis first caught zip line fever during Super Bowl XLVI when the city erected a temporary zip line in the heart of downtown. Intrigued by the overwhelming popularity of the Super Bowl Village zip line, Benjamin Nagengast, CEO of White River Zip Lines, sought to bring Indianapolis a permanent, world-class zip line course.

“It's going to be a jaw-dropping experience, and not just for people in the Indianapolis-area, but for thrill-seekers across the Midwest,” said Nagengast. “We brought some of the best minds in the industry together to design and build a massive, state-of-the-art course, and there's nothing else like it in the region.”

First-time zip liners needn't worry about their lack of experience. All riders who arrive at the course will be transported via all-terrain vehicles to the White River Zip Lines “Ground School” training area where they will participate in a brief safety demonstration before making their first run.

White River Zip Lines will accommodate individual thrill seekers, families, corporate retreats and groups of all sizes for any special event.

About the White River Zip Lines course:

• Eight zip line runs

• Total Course Distance: 5,280 feet (1 mile)

• Four dual zip lines for racing and four solo zip lines

• One 1,000-foot dual racing line
