Subscribe NowThe Indiana University Board of Trustees will decide today where the university could place a new medical school and research facility in the Evansville area. Four proposals have been submitted for the campus, which will include University of Southern Indiana, University of Evansville and Ivy Tech Community College programs. Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana Chief Executive Officer Greg Wathan believes the new campus will transform the area that is chosen by IU trustees.
Four companies are vying for the contract.
IU says it has proposals from Browning Construction and Duke Realty Corp. in Indianapolis along with Tennessee-based Skanska HealthRealty and the University of Southern Indiana's Office of Finance and Administration.Construction is slated to begin next year and the occupancy date is July 1, 2017.
