Keep Evansville Beautiful and Evansville Regional Airport officials have announced the winner of a contest to design an airport entrance sculpture. Oakland City artist Bob Zasadny has been selected for his work titled “Aerial Beauty.” Our partners at Eyewitness News in Evansville report the project needs more funding. The organizations launched a contest in 2011 to find the winning proposal.

Eyewitness News reports the $100,000 in funding still needed will go toward the sculpture, a “welcome” wall, and landscaping.

When complete, plans call for the piece to be 20 feet-long and 27 feet-tall.
