Indianapolis, Ind. — The Indiana Charter School Board (ICSB) released its first annual report this week, the Board's cumulative public record of its authorizing work from its inception through 2013. The report highlights the ICSB’s five-year strategic plan, innovations accomplished, processes for applicant evaluation and accountability, and school performance.
Leading the ICSB towards its future goals will be newly named executive director Nick LeRoy. LeRoy comes to the ICSB from Eli Lilly and Company, where he previously served as a global marketing manager. He joined Lilly in 2007 and held a number of different roles in the global marketing organization including work on the Cialis brand (both globally and in China) as well as recent work helping to lead the global launch of Amyvid, the first radio pharmaceutical used in the detection of beta amyloid plaque for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease. Prior to his time at Lilly, LeRoy worked in various marketing roles for Roche Diagnostics both in the US and Canada as well as roles in the internet and telecommunications industry.
“Nick will be a tremendous asset to our leadership team,” said Maureen Weber, chair of the board for the ICSB. “We look forward to working with him as the ICSB continues to strive toward expanding high-quality educational opportunities for all Hoosier students.”
LeRoy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah in 1994 and then completed his MBA from the Goizueta School of Business (Emory University) in 2002. He and his wife Lori have two sons, Nate and Alex, and have called Indianapolis home for the past 12 years.
“I am very excited to be joining the ICSB during this period of educational reform and advancement,” said LeRoy. “Providing students access to high-performing educational environments that best serve their own learning style and needs is incredibly important and I look forward to the ICSB being a catalyst to achieving that goal.”
