News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Construction manager and general contractor Messer Construction Co. has purchased 13,712 square feet of office space located at 2441-45 N. Meridian Street in Indianapolis, adjacent to Ivy Tech and Fall Creek Place. The decision to make the $1.6 million investment was made March 13 and solidifies the company's plan to move its office off of East Shadeland Avenue to the newly acquired location just minutes north of downtown.

Work on the property is slated to begin in May and will be managed and performed by Messer. A target move-in date of January 2015 has been set.

“We're thrilled to be moving our operations near downtown and to invest in Indianapolis,” said Steve Bestard, vice president and Indianapolis region leader for Messer Construction Co. “We've considered moving our office for quite some time now, and when this property came to our attention we knew we needed to jump on it.”

The site consists of two adjoining, two-story buildings and a 50-space parking lot behind the building. A complete gut and remodel is planned for the interior of the vacant building, as is a partial tear-down and reconstruction of the exterior fa?ade.

Messer employs more than 100 people who live and work in Indiana, so according to Bestard, accessibility to the highway and downtown was a major selling point for the move. Employees spend a majority of their time at client construction jobsites throughout the region, so having an accessible, central office location further encourages employees’ non-profit and community commitments across the city and region.

“With plans for continued company growth, the flexibility of the space and the prime location made this an easy decision for us,” Bestard added. “Not only will this place us close to the heart of the city, its central location will allow our employees to more easily mix work with their commitment to the community.”
