The Indiana Department of Education has been awarded more than $8.6 million in federal funding. The U.S. Department of Education School Improvement Grants will be used in Hoosier schools during the 2014-2015 school year. February 6, 2014

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Education received over $8.6 million in School Improvement Grants from the U.S. Department of Education this week. School Improvement Grants afford school districts the opportunity to make bold and aggressive changes to positively impact student achievement. The funds will be used during the 2014-2015 school year.

“Today's announcement reinforces my commitment to work directly with local schools through the newly created Outreach Division for School Improvement,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz. “The Department of Education is dedicated to providing schools with the resources they need to ensure that all Hoosier children receive an equitable and high quality education.”
