FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry’s 2014 State of the City Address scheduled for noon on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at the Grand Wayne Center, 120 W. Jefferson Blvd., has been postponed due to the approaching winter storm expected to impact Fort Wayne later today through Wednesday.
The Mayor's State of the City Address has been rescheduled for noon on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the Grand Wayne Center.
The speech is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 11:45 a.m.
Mayor Henry will highlight City successes in 2013 and look ahead to plans for 2014. The theme for this year's speech is “Investing in our Future.”
WPTA 21Alive and WANE-TV NewsChannel 15 will air the speech live.
A reception will follow the speech.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Mayor Pete Buttigieg will deliver his third State of the City address February 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bendix Theatre, Century Center. Mayor Buttigieg will reflect on South Bend's achievements in 2013 and outline initiatives for the year to come. A reception will follow. The address and reception are free and open to the public.
Mayor Buttigieg will discuss initiatives that continue to reduce violence, strengthen neighborhoods, increase employment, and streamline city government. He will also highlight high-tech business investment and riverfront development that have driven South Bend's comeback and improved its future economic prospects.
The State of the City will be Mayor Buttigieg's last major address to residents before he deploys to Afghanistan. He will serve from February 28 to September 30, 2014 on active military duty with the United States Navy Reserve. Mayor Buttigieg has designated former City Controller Mark Neal as the Deputy Mayor for the City of South Bend for the duration of his deployment.
Gently used winter-weather clothing such as coats, hats, scarves, gloves, snow boots, snow pants and other cold-weather articles will be collected at the event for charity.
