News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann today presented 20 companies with the Indiana Small Business Development Center's Economic Development through Growth and Entrepreneurship (EDGE) Awards during a Statehouse ceremony.

Sponsored by the ISBDC, the awards recognize both emerging and established businesses that are clients of the agency's 10 regional offices located throughout the state. Recipients are chosen by the staff at each regional ISBDC.

Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann congratulated the award winners. “These twenty companies represent the best of the Hoosier entrepreneurial spirit. They each have taken the courageous steps to make their vision of a successful enterprise possible. I am pleased that through the Small Business Development Centers, we can advise and support them and now honor them for their efforts”

Together, these businesses represent 322 full-time Indiana jobs and in total finished 2013 with more than $3 million in revenue.

Nearly half of the U.S. private sector workforce is employed by small businesses according to the U.S. Small Business Administration. America's 28 million small businesses create two out of every three net new private sector jobs and are the backbone of the economy.
