The Courier & Press reports The Centre will be called the Old National Events Plaza. The new moniker reflects Evansville-based Old National Bancorp's (Nasdaq: ONB) $14 million investment in the planned hotel that will join the convention facility and the Ford Center.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke expects to break ground on that project in January.
The bancorp is also the title sponsor of the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre in Indianapolis.
