Fort Wayne, Ind. — Lutheran Health Network officials today announce Jeff Vice has been appointed chief operating officer for St. Joseph Hospital and Vikash Negandhi, MD, is now COO for RediMed, a position that includes oversight of its four urgent care clinics, two physical therapy locations, business health services and occupational physical therapy for Lutheran Health Network.
For the past three years, Vice worked as the assistant chief executive officer with Lutheran Health Network member Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru, Ind., where he developed and implemented the hospital’s annual strategic plan and budget. Prior to that, Vice served as an administrative specialist for two years at Lutheran Hospital managing physician-hospital syndications as well as other projects.
Vice obtained his master's degree in health administration in 2005 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his MBA from UAB in 2004. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2002 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Vice began his post with St. Joseph Hospital Oct. 21.
Most recently, Dr. Negandhi managed and implemented new computer software training for physicians and clinical staff at Brown and Toland in San Francisco and HealthCare Partners in Los Angeles. Before that, Dr. Negandhi worked on similar technology initiatives to help upgrade infrastructure for Sharon Regional Health System in Sharon, Pa., and Jameson Health System in New Castle, Pa. He also applied his Black Belt Six Sigma certification to improve processes in billing, physician practices and triage at these various facilities.
Dr. Negandhi received a bachelor’s degree in biology and his medical degree from the Xavier School of Medicine – Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles. He earned a second bachelor’s degree in healthcare studies with a concentration in administrative health from Daemen College in Buffalo, N.Y. Dr. Negandhi, who recently obtained an MBA from the University of Tennessee in healthcare, began his role at RediMed Oct. 1.
In addition, two regional chief operating officer positions within LHN have been filled. Matt Lehn has been named COO for Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Andy Guz is the new COO for Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Guz previously served as COO for BRMC and assistant CEO at Porter Health Care System in northwestern Indiana. Guz acquired a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marshall University and a master’s in health administration from Cornell University.
Lehn previously served as vice president of physician services for DeKalb Health and he also spent 15 years in various roles at Lutheran Hospital and Lutheran Health Network. Lehn earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Ball State University and his MBA from Indiana University.
