News Release

(Warsaw, Ind.) – ENTERPRISE describes the essential elements of creating a successful, healthy, growing economy. It includes INVENTION of new products and INNOVATION of new processes or markets. But equally important are ENTREPRENEURS having the critical and unique talents to build a strong, growing company.

Kosciusko County has a rich abundance of talented inventors, innovators and entrepreneurs which we are celebrating through the Kosciusko County Entrepreneur and Innovation Hall of Fame.

In the past two years, we have honored Revra Depuy, Justin Zimmer, Dane Miller, Tobias Buck and Miles Igo (Depuy, Zimmer, Biomet, Paragon and Medtronic) all part of our County’s incredible Orthopedic Capital of the World. This year we add John Byrd and John Hand (Othy/Symmetry). Our extremely productive value-added

agriculture and ag-manufacturing sector has been recognized in the past with recognition to Hobart and Russell Creighton, Donald Wetzel, Howard Brembeck and Kip Tom (Creighton Brothers, Maple Leaf Farms,

CTB Inc. and Tom farms). This year we add Tom, John and Jack Anglin (Clunette Elevator) and Don Strauss (Midwest Poultry).

But entrepreneurship and innovation in Kosciusko County is not limited to two industries, it is wide spread across our economy. It Includes our diversified manufacturing sector with past recipients being Adele De Berri and Jan and John Rinker (Da-Lite Screens and Rinker Boats). This year we are adding Ron Baumgartner (The Papers). Last year we honored in our retail/service sector Wallace Stouder (Penguin Point).

This year’s inductees include Michael Kubacki and Doug Grant (Lake City Bank) and Wallace, Connie, Richard and James Miller (Miller Health Systems).

From the beginning, our selection committee has set as an operating principal that we would recognize not only the inventor, innovator or entrepreneurs so critical for success, but the ongoing and growing company.

While the principal innovator, entrepreneur creates the dream and foundation for success, it takes talented employees, management and investors to keep a great idea part of a growing great company.
