Indianapolis-based Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: RJET) has agreed to a 48-hour extension for Indigo Partners LLC to complete a $145 million deal for Frontier Airlines. Republic says the Arizona firm continues to make progress on meeting the deal's closing conditions.

Indianapolis, Ind. — Republic Airways Holdings (NASDAQ: RJET) today announced that it has agreed to a 48-hour extension of exclusivity of the sale process for Frontier Airlines.

“Indigo Partners informed us they have made good progress but have not been able to resolve all the conditions to close the transaction,” said Republic Airways Chairman, President and CEO Bryan Bedford. “They requested and we agreed to extend the deadline by 48 hours.”

Republic Airways Holdings, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, is an airline holding company that owns Chautauqua Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, collectively “the airlines.” The airlines operate a combined fleet of more than 285 aircraft and offer scheduled passenger service on over 1,600 flights daily to 145 cities in the U.S. as well as to the Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico and Turks and Caicos Islands under branded operations at Frontier, and through fixed-fee flights operated under airline partner brands, including American Eagle, Delta Connection, United Express and US Airways Express.
