An event focusing on energy generation and management is scheduled for this week at IPFW. The participant-driven “Energy Systems Un-Conference” will feature discussions on wind, solar and geothermal energy. October 11, 2013

News Release

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) is hosting an “un-conference” focusing on different types of reusable energy sources and systems. The term un-conference is used because this is a participant-driven event. Typically, the term is associated with gatherings that try to avoid one or more aspects of a conventional conference, such as high fees, sponsored presentations, and top-down organization. The Energy Systems Un-Conference takes place at the IPFW Walb Union Ballroom from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 18, 2013.

Topics for the day include energy distribution and components, energy conversion systems, energy efficiency systems and siting, and energy generation and management. Experts will touch on the basics of wind, solar, and geothermal power, along with harvesting and storage.

If you are interested in attending this event, you must register before October 16. To register for this event, click here. For more information, contact Don Mueller, associate professor of mechanical engineering, at 260-481-5707 or mueller@engr.ipfw.edu.
