A groundbreaking event will take place Thursday for a $42 million mixed-use development in Fishers. The Depot at Nickel Plate will include more than 240 apartments and more than 15,000 square feet of retail space. Residents should be able to move into the apartments starting in November 2014. FISHERS, Ind. – Indianapolis-based Flaherty & Collins Properties is excited to announce the October 10 groundbreaking for The Depot at Nickel Plate, a $42 million mixed-use project located in Downtown Fishers.

The much-anticipated development will consist of 242 luxury apartment homes, a high-end private resident amenity area, and approximately 15,700 square feet of retail space. The retail space will be on the first floor of The Depot. The four-story building will be wrapped around a centrally located parking structure that will consist of 430 spaces with public parking on the first floors and secured parking for the residents on the floors above.

The Depot at Nickel Plate will be developed, constructed and managed by Flaherty & Collins Properties. The project will consist of One, Two, and Three Bedroom units with an average of 934 square feet.

“Our goal is to bring a unique, high-end apartment community with amenities unmatched anywhere in the community,” said Dave Flaherty, CEO for Flaherty & Collins Properties. “Our company has a reputation of developing these types of residential and retail projects in other parts of the country including Indianapolis.”

The Depot at Nickel Plate will provide a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly downtown where people can live, shop, dine, and be entertained. The development is the start of revitalizing a new town center that blends past, present and future will become a reality in Fishers, Indiana. The first apartment homes should be available in November 2014.
