The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana has announced its annual award winners. Business leaders honored during an event Thursday night include the president of a brewing company, an area nonprofit and the head of an architecture, engineering and design firm. September 20, 2013

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 19, 2013) – The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana today hosted its 2013 Annual Meeting

& Dinner at The Centre in Downtown Evansville. The regional nonprofit organization and its board of directors celebrated annual award recipients in the following six categories: Entrepreneur of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Richard A. Schlottman Business Person of the Year, and Norman P. Wagner Business of the Year.

Nick Davidson, president of Evansville-based Tin Man Brewing Co., was named recipient of the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year award by The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana. Opened in November 2012, the company has already won an international medal, two state medals, and a People’s Choice award for their beers, crafted in Evansville, Ind.

Parri Black, president & CEO of Youth First, Inc. and Carl Chapman, chairman of the board of directors of Youth First, Inc., accepted the 2013 Nonprofit of the Year award on behalf of Youth First, Inc. Through programs and services, Youth First, Inc. helps young people and their families avoid pitfalls and overcome challenges associated with substance abuse.

Charley Storms was named recipient of the 2013 Volunteer of the Year. Storms is a strong supporter of Tri-State Manufacturers’ Alliance, a program of The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana, and has worked tirelessly in recent years on events designed to prepare local students for the global workforce.

AlphaGraphics was named 2013 Small Business of the Year. AlphaGraphics is celebrating 20 years in business and was recently named a Top 100 US printer by Quick Printing Magazine. Tom and Lisa Slade accepted the Small Business of the Year award on behalf of AlphaGraphics.

Jeff Justice, president of Evansville-based Hafer Associates, was named recipient of the 2013 Richard A. Schlottman Business Person of the Year award. The Richard A. Schlottman Business Person of the Year award is presented to an individual who goes beyond the normal call of duty and is an advocate for, and a leader within, the Southwest Indiana regional community.

Lefler Collision & Glass Repair Centers was named recipient of the 2013 Norman P. Wagner Business of the Year.

Since opening for business in 1952, Lefler Collision & Glass has grown from a one shop business to three collision repair centers and a mechanical repair center, employing more than 70 employees today.
