Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report meetings are set with five manufacturing companies near Milan in an effort to bring jobs to Indiana. The group leaves Saturday. City officials are not naming the companies, but say three already have operations in the the U.S. and the others want to build their first American facilities next year.
Anderson Interim Economic Director Greg Winkler and Flagship Enterprise Center Chief Executive Officer Chuck Staley will join the mayor on the trip.
The newspaper reports the trip is expected to cost $9,000 and is being financed through the city's food and beverage tax fund.
The Flagship Enterprise Center is covering the cost for Chuck Staley.
