A plan to repurpose a former downtown Vincennes middle school campus is moving forward. The Sun-Commercial reports the city's Historic Review Board has approved the first phase of the $9 million Clark's Crossing project. As part of the plan, Vincennes-based Myszak & Palmer Architecture and Development Inc. is working to turn the administration building into a nearly 50-unit senior living complex and transform the old Adams Coliseum into a community center.

The former Clark Middle School was vacated more than two years ago.

In February, the proposal was awared more than $1.7 million in rental housing tax credits from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.

Prior plans for the third building on the property include tearing it down to make way for a park and parking lot.
