Bagger Dave's Legendary Tavern will open its second location in the state this weekend. The Avon eatery will have more than 40 workers. The company plans to have six restaurants in Indiana by the end of the year. It already has a location in Indianapolis and construction is underway on a restaurant in Greenwood.
The company hopes to open in Fishers, Terre Haute and the Westfield/Carmel area this year.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Bagger Dave’s Legendary Burger Tavern, a unique, full-service, ultra-casual restaurant and bar, will celebrate its grand opening at 9646 East Hwy 36 in Avon, Indiana, on Sunday, July 21 at 11 a.m. The celebration will follow an invitation-only VIP Grand Opening Party to be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 19.
“We’re looking forward to sharing the Bagger Dave’s experience with the people of Avon. We know that this will be the place for friends and family to meet up and enjoy a burger and local craft beer,” said T. Michael Ansley, president and CEO of Diversified Restaurant Holdings, which operates Bagger Dave’s. “We are expecting the Avon location to be a hit with the community.”
Based in metropolitan Detroit, Bagger Dave’s continues to expand its Indianapolis-area presence, with one location on the northwest side of Indianapolis already booming. Construction is slated to begin this month on a new restaurant in Greenwood near County Line Road and South Emerson Avenue on a third Bagger Dave’s in the area.
Like all Bagger Dave’s restaurants, the Avon location will offer a warm, welcoming neighborhood atmosphere and memorable guest service. The nearly 5,000 square-foot restaurant, which will feature full table service and a bar serving local craft beers and wine, will dish up fresh, never-frozen premium beef-blend burgers and all-natural ground turkey burgers. With a choice of 30 Meaningless Free Toppings®, which include six cheese choices, three types of artisan buns, six house-made sauces and more, patrons can create their own legendary beef, turkey, or veggie black bean burgers. A selection of Signature Burgers is also available on the menu, including the Tuscan Turkey Burger™ (sliced mozzarella, tomato, onion and basil and balsamic vinaigrette) and the famedTrain Wreck Burger™ (fresh-cut fries, fried egg, mild cheddar, saut?ed onions and mushrooms and Bagger Dave’s Railhouse Burger Sauce™).
The menu also features fresh-cut potato French fries, Dave’s Sweet Potato Chips®, Amazingly Delicious Turkey Black Bean Chili® and Sloppy Dave’s BBQ®, as well as sandwiches, salads and hand-dipped milkshakes.
Atmosphere is equally important at Bagger Dave’s, which was founded in 2008. The company has identified a niche in the burger business with a modern interpretation of the old-fashioned neighborhood bar.
