Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health has announced a new network to extend resources and expertise throughout the state. The health system says the “Riley Physicians” program will begin in Indianapolis, with the goal of expanding elsewhere. July 10, 2013

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In an effort to connect more children and families with the expertise of Indiana's only nationally ranked children's hospital, Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health has launched “Riley Physicians” – poised to become a statewide children's healthcare network. Riley Physicians will manage the gamut of children's healthcare needs – from school physicals and annual checkups to strep throat and allergies.

“While we will never stop delivering the highly specialized, complex care we are known for, we feel an overwhelming responsibility to proactively support the health and wellness of all Hoosier kids,” said Dr. Jeff Sperring, Riley at IU Health president and CEO. “As we look ahead to the future, our goal is to extend our expertise beyond the walls of our hospital to manage the everyday healthcare needs of children in more of Indiana's communities.”

Riley Physicians will allow for integrated care between the physicians across the state and Riley at IU Health. It launches as a network of primary care providers in Indianapolis and will expand to include primary care providers throughout the IU Health system and state. Future partners will include Riley at IU Health specialists as well as other experts who share the Riley at IU Health passion for and commitment to the highest standards of children's health.

“All physicians who join the network are committed to upholding the quality, safety, educational and care standards exemplified by Riley at IU Health,” said Dr. Paul Haut, Riley at IU Health chief medical officer. “Our aim is to support parents throughout every stage of their child's healthcare journey – from the routine to the most extreme.”
