Industrial Fan Maker Closing Carmel Plant
Minnesota-based Horton Inc. has notified the state it will be closing its manufacturing facility in Carmel, affecting nearly 30 workers.
The company produces engine cooling fans and fan drives for heavy-duty trucks, construction, agricultural and mining equipment.
In the notice, Horton said it told its workers in January that the company was closing the Indiana plant. The company said the layoffs will occur in two waves, with the first group working until September. The other cuts occur in October.
Horton said the plant will close by the end of the year.
