Indiana University has promoted Scott Dolson to director of intercollegiate athletics. He has served as deputy director and chief operating officer since 2009. Prior to that, Dolson spent seven years as director of the IU Varsity Club. He succeeds Fred Glass, who announced his retirement in December.

Dolson graduated from IU with a bachelor’s degree in management from the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. While doing his undergraduate work, he was a student manager for the IU men’s basketball team for four seasons, serving as the program’s head manager in 1988.  Following graduation in 1988, he worked for Tim Knight Enterprises

Dolson is expected to officially assume his new position in late summer.
