Kimball International Implementing Transformation Plan
JASPER - Jasper-based Kimball International Inc. (Nasdaq: KBAL) has announced plans to consolidate its manufacturing operations and restructure aspects of its operational leadership. The moves are part of the company’s previously announced strategy shift called Kimball International Connect.
The furniture manufacturer says the move will centralize its corporate business practices, including legal, compliance and environmental governance.
Kimball says it created two roles to support the changes.
Greg Meunier has been promoted to executive vice president, Kimball International Global Operations. He’s been with the company for 31 years.
“(Greg’s) knowledge and expertise will guide the team to set new standards in quality assurance, efficiency and productivity,” said Kimball International Chief Executive Officer Kristie Juster.
Meunier’s global operations team will include manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, logistics, R&D, safety, and environmental.
The company also announced the hiring of Mark Johnson as chief legal, governance officer and corporate secretary.
Johnson previously served as deputy general counsel at Atlanta-based Newell Brands Inc. (Nasdaq: NWL), a manufacturer and distributor of consumer and commercial products, including Rubber Maid.
Kimball says Johnson’s role will support the company’s shift to a centralized structure and the Kimball International Connect strategy.
In June, the company announced it was closing a seat manufacturing plant in Virginia as part of Kimball’s plans to reduce excess capacity and gain efficiencies.
