Brian Howey was being treated last week in the intensive care unit at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after suffering a fall, which required surgery.
In a statement on the HPI website, Howey’s family said the fall resulted in a serious subdural hematoma and surgery was needed to relieve pressure on his brain. “The prognosis remains good, but Brian faces a recovery of unknown duration that precludes his working and writing at this time,” the notice said.
As a result of the incident, HPI says publication of its Daily Wire had been interrupted but will resume Monday. Additionally, HPI’s weekly Thursday newsletter will be postponed indefinitely, however original content from the website’s contributors will continue daily.
“By the grace of God, Brian will have an uneventful and speedy recovery, and return to work as soon as he is able, providing his keen analysis of both Indiana and national politics.”
