GREENWOOD - Business dreamers and established entrepreneurs will go head-to-head Thursday at the inaugural Fall business competition hosted by the Greater Greenwood Chamber. Through the chamber’s entrepreneur initiative, Greenhouse, teams will pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges.

Teams will compete by solving a real business case study and pitching their solutions. The chamber says participant’s solutions will be judged on originality of the idea, potential market, quality, and sustainability.

“Problem solving is a critical leadership skill, and this competition offers an excellent way to develop it by engaging with other business leaders and learning from their collective experiences,” said Brent Tilson, competition judge and Greenhouse entrepreneur-in-residence. “I encourage local entrepreneurs to come out in order to help sharpen one another, and in turn, strengthen our local business economy.”

The Greenhouse program was designed to offer a culture of learning and business collaboration among Greenwood’s entrepreneurs and innovators.

The winning team will receive a cash prize and consultant package.

The pitch competition runs from 4-6pm Thursday at the Valle Vista Conference Center. It's open to all community entrepreneurs and spectators.
