WHIN Awards $38K to Support Ag Education
WEST LAFAYETTE - The Wabash Heartland Innovation Network has awarded its first round of grants from the Regional Cultivation Fund. The 10-county network gave more than $38,000 in grants to Indiana West Advantage of Montgomery County and Ivy Tech Community College Lafayette to fill the education gap in precision agriculture.
A $38.9 million regional grant from the Lilly Endowment established the first of five rounds of funding. The grants aim to support education, vitality and connectivity in the region and include precision agriculture technology.
WHIN’s 10 counties include Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Pulaski, Tippecanoe, Warren and White.
A public awards ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 23 at Ivy Tech Community College Crawfordsville.
