MCHA to Hold Groundbreaking Ceremony
BLOOMINGTON - The Monroe County Humane Association will Tuesday host a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Animal Care Campus in Bloomington. The nonprofit says the building will include a 4,000-square-foot veterinary clinic and outreach center that will provide full-service veterinary care, grooming and a food pantry in addition to a 2,000-square-foot emergency housing center.
The first phase of construction is set for completion in January 2020, with phase two concluding in April of 2020.
“MCHA has been working to meet the overwhelming need for additional resources to support pet owners in our community. Reflected in the growing number of patients we see and the demand for additional resources, a larger, focused space on our services has been an initiative for the last three years. We’re creating a campus that can meet the demand for services and resources,” said Monroe County Humane Association Executive Director Rebecca Warren in a news release.
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. at 791 South Fieldstone Boulevard in Bloomington.
