VINCENNES - Good Samaritan has agreed to buy the former Clearview Eye Center in Vincennes. The health system's board of governors approved the $1.5 million purchase in a special meeting Thursday morning and announced plans to locate the physical medicine department in the newly-purchased facility.

Good Samaritan says their current Physical Medicine Department provided over 42,000 treatments last year and with the current number of patients, along with service line growth, a larger building was necessary. The 15,929 square foot building sits on just under 3 acres at 2020 Clearview Drive, which includes parking for 90 patients and staff members.

“We are excited about expanding our services and making physical medicine services more accessible to our patients,” said Matt Schuckman, Vice President of Operations. “The location will be more convenient for our patients and will provide additional space for growth opportunities in the future.”

The new facility will house several departments, including physical therapy and speech therapy. Once the new building is occupied, plans call for the Good Samaritan/Indiana University Internal Medicine Residency Program to occupy the former space in the summer of 2020 with the Internal Medicine Continuity Clinic.
