City OKs Fourth Scooter Company, Proposes Caps
INDIANAPOLIS - Lyft has officially joined Bird, Lime and Spin in providing scooter services to Indianapolis. The Department of Business and Neighborhood Services gave approval to the company Thursday, and is meeting next month to introduce new regulations to shared mobility operators.
The meeting, which will take place May 10, will propose several regulations including:
- Caps on the number of companies allowed to operate in the city
- Caps on the number of scooters allowed
- Tighter rules on where companies are allowed to set scooters out
The city says detailed copies of the regulations will be available April 30.
