FORT WAYNE - Fort Wayne-based Lutheran Health Network has announced an expansion of its leadership team. The health system has named Mark Medley market chief executive officer and Natalie Seaber market chief nursing officer. Both appointees will begin their new roles March 18.

Medley most recently served as CEO of Alee Healthcare Advisory Services in Tennessee. Lutheran says, in his new role, Medley will work with executives from throughout the network to execute operational strategies and create a more unified approach to the delivery of healthcare.

Seaber previously served as senior director of performance excellence for Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. In her new role with Lutheran, she will be responsible for coordinating clinical initiatives across the health system and leading programs aimed at elevating quality metrics and enhancing the patient experience.

"Mark has a track record of producing strong operational and financial results within complex healthcare environments and understands how to optimize healthcare systems in a time of dynamic changes for our industry," said Mike Poore, regional president of Lutheran Health Network. "Natalie has a deep knowledge of clinical operations and a strong background in nursing and quality improvement."

LHN also announced that Paula Autry will transition from her current role as CEO of Lutheran Hospital to the role of CEO of St. Joseph Hospital. The the move is in preparation for the new Downtown Hospital, which is expected to open in late 2021. The health system says Autry's move, which will be effective next month, "positions an established Lutheran executive to manage current operations of the hospital, while also enabling hands-on engagement in the design and construction phases for the new facility."

Construction on the $120 million Lutheran Downtown Hospital is slated to begin this summer. When complete, it will replace St. Joseph Hospital.

LHN says an interim CEO for Lutheran Hospital will be appointed this month and a national search for a permanent successor will begin immediately.
