Union Savings and Loan to Open in Rushville
RUSHVILLE - Connersville-based Union Savings and Loan Association has announced plans to expand to Rush County. The bank says it will begin construction this spring on a new branch in Rushville, which is expected to open later this year.
Financial details of the expansion were not disclosed, however Rush County Economic Development Corp. Executive Director John McCane tells INside INdiana Business it will be a "considerable investment." He says the project will also clean up two blighted properties in the city's downtown.
"We are excited about the significant investment in our community," Rushville Mayor Mike Pavey said in a news release. "We are equally excited that the leadership of Union Savings and Loan have joined our efforts in revitalizing our downtown."
The new branch will be located at 131 South Main Street in downtown Rushville. USLA, founded in Connersville in 1892, also has a location in Greenfield and says the new bank will serve customers in Rush, Hancock and Fayette counties.
