FORT WAYNE - The Indiana University Research and Technology Corp. says it will establish a presence in the $440 million Electric Works mixed-use innovation district in downtown Fort Wayne. Chief Executive Officer Tony Armstrong says the location will allow IURTC to connect to the Indiana University alumni network in the region.

The IURTC supports supports entrepreneurial activities at IU and university innovation-based startup companies, including access to its recently-established $15 million Philanthropic Venture Fund.

The center is still working out details on exactly where and when it will locate, but the university expects the location to mirror similar operations it has in other Indiana innovation districts, including the Fishers IoT Lab, Union 525 in Indianapolis, Bloomington's Dimension Mill and Westgate at Crane.
