Pacers Sports & Entertainment has named Dr. Allison Barber president and chief operating officer of the Indiana Fever. Tamika Catchings has been named vice president of Fever basketball operations. Barber is just the second person to lead the Fever franchise, succeeding former executive Kelly Krauskopf. She currently serves as president of WGU Advancement, the nonprofit fundraising arm of WGU Indiana, and former chancellor of WGU Indiana. Barber also previously served as president of Sodenta, a strategic communications firm, and deputy assistant secretary of defense and special detail to the Office of Global Communications in the White House. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Tennessee Temple University, a master’s in elementary education from Indiana University, and a doctorate in leadership from Tennessee Temple University. She begins her new role March 18.

Catchings is a four-time Olympic Gold Medalist and 16-year WNBA superstar with the Fever, who previously served as director of player programs and franchise development for Pacers Sports & Entertainment. Catchings will now be responsible for  coordinating day-to-day Fever basketball operations. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee.
